Your system data, in your hands.

How mStat handles system monitoring data, your preferences and the public IP lookup. Last updated: 29 September 2026

System monitoring data

mStat reads and displays CPU, memory, disk, battery, local network statistics and chart history on your Mac. These metrics are processed locally by the app and are never uploaded to a server by mStat.

The app contains no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.

Public IP lookup

To display your public IPv4 address, mStat makes an HTTPS request to a third-party public IP service. Those services receive your public IP address and standard network request metadata.

The address that comes back is held in memory for display only. It is never written to disk and never used for analytics or advertising. The interface masks the public IP by default; click to reveal it.

  • api4.ipify.org
  • ipv4.icanhazip.com
  • ifconfig.me

The public IP is masked by default, so screenshots and screen shares cannot expose it by accident.

Preferences and tracking

Preferences such as menu bar items, appearance, language and power saving are stored on your Mac through macOS UserDefaults. Deleting the app clears them with it.

Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google technical information such as the page address, referrer and device.

The script does not load until you choose. Your first visit asks at the bottom of the page; the choice is stored on this device and can be changed at any time.

This section covers the website only. The app itself contains no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking SDKs — the sections above describe the app.

Your choice about the analytics script is stored on this device. Change it any time:
